Any Day Spent Quilting Is A Good Day!

Posted by Diana Wendorf on

Welcome to What's Up Wednesday!
Only 6 more days until the 2022 All Minnesota Shop Hop officially wraps up.   For those of you are trying to get your last minute stamps Affinity For Quilts will be open on Monday, May 30th, from 9am-5pm.

Remember you only need 5 stamps in your passport to submit it for the entry level prize drawings.  Mail that passport in today - you may be a winner!

Honestly the last 60 days have been a lot of fun.  We have met a lot of great people and heard so many wonderful comments about our shop.  However, the best part was seeing everyone  having a lot of fun enjoying this hop.  I want  to personally thank all of the sponsors and Shop Hop Inc. for organizing this fantastic event.  I seriously hope we have an All Minnesota Shop Hop 2023.

On a more personal note Memorial Day, the 4th Monday of May, has always reminded me of those who have fought, and died, for our country.  As this holiday approaches I want to extend my condolences to anyone who may have lost a love one in any of the wars that our country has participated in.  On this day please take a moment to remember and honor those who have served our country.
Gather together those favorite Fat Quarter's, you only need 14 of them, and then create your very own original Star Pop by Quilty Love.  Our sample/kit is the large throw that measures 60" x 70" and kits are available for $56.99.by

Our classroom space is currently open.  If your group would like a place to meet please contact Affinity For Quilts at 651-429-1039.  Evening meeting space is available; however, there will be a fee that will need to be negotiable with the shop for evening meetings.

COVID-19
Per the CDC COVID is now an endemic vs a pandemic. This means that, while some people would still get infected, it wouldn't be an unbearable number with devastating consequences that overwhelms the public, hospital systems and providers.  The seasonal flu, or influenza, is an example of an endemic virus. We will continue to monitor the COVID situation; however, masks are still a great way to stop the spread of this disease.  If you have not been vaccinated please wear a mask when in the shop.  At the current time it is employee choice if they want to mask or not.

Tip of the Week!
Affinity For Quilts Tip of the Week:  Stop buying the expensive art-craft boxes at JoAnn's.  Just visit your local pizza joint and ask to purchase their pizza boxes.  These boxes work great for storing your finished quilt blocks, and fabrics, for the project at a fraction of the cost.  They also come in multiple sizes; small, medium, or large.  Then just add a label to the outside of the box so you know it's contents.  You local pizza place may just give them to you for free.   Mine does, but then again we order a lot of pizza from them!

Just a reminder if you have a tip you would like to share with our readers just e-mail Diana at quilt@affinityforquilts.com.
Classes and Events
In order to give all of our customers the opportunity to take classes we will be requesting payment at the time of registration.  If you need to cancel, we ask for notification 7 days prior to the class date so we can offer your spot to someone on our wait list and refund your registration fee.  Thanks so much for your understanding of this policy change and happy quilting everyone.

When you sign up for a class at Affinity For Quilts you will receive information about the class including any supplies needed for the class and often a few things that need to be completed before the day of the class.  Be sure to read through the supply/class prep list to ensure you have everything you need for a really wonderful class experience.
If you sign up and pay by phone, not to worry, we can email you all of the information you need for a successful class experience.

Even if an event is filled, please add your name to the wait list.  The wait list is used to see how popular the event is and if we should schedule another class; or, if someone can not attend then we will call the first person on the wait list to see if they what that spot.

You can register and pay for classes in person at 2199 4th Street, White Bear Lake Minnesota or by phone at 651-429-1039.
