Flash Monday
Are you feeling a lack of inspiration, or are you trying to be a little more spontaneous? Then this is the class for you! The first Monday of every month we hold a 2 hour surprise class. The monthly project will not be revealed until the Wednesday before the scheduled class- We promise that the class will be well worth it!

March's Flash Monday will feature Pint Size Parking by Atkinson Designs. This is a project you will want to make more than one of! Pint Size Parking is perfect for holding all those miscellaneous items; sewing supplies and notions, silverware, or even office supplies. The possibilities are endless as to what Pint Size Parking can hold. Fat Quarters would love this for a home!

 Sashiko Workshop
Are you ready to try something new? This introductory class will get you started Sashiko stitching some fun coasters! 

Sashiko is an ancient form of Japanese decorative, reinforcement stitching which uses a drawn-on, grid- like pattern and a heavier weight thread. The stitching originally was practical as it extended the life of fabrics used everyday.  It is fun, and the results are gorgeous!

Color Lecture
Color is part of quilting; as important as fabric, thread and the pattern. In this color lecture, we will learn color basics and how they apply to quilting. How to solve those pesky color issues when something just seems to be off in your project. Learn to be your own color doctor! This is a 2 1/2 hour lecture offered in January or March.

  Finishing Class with Jodi Madison
Jodie Madison has made herself available for the day to help you out with any of your Quiltworx or Judy Neimeyer projects that may be sitting in time out. Ask her any questions regarding these projects, and she will help you problem solve!

 Sleep in your own bed retreat
Bring your favorite projects to work on for 2 days at the White Bear Lake Armory, 2228 4th St, White Bear Lake, MN 55110
The retreat fee includes; pizza and salad on Friday night with a continental breakfast Saturday morning and a lovely catered dinner on Saturday. There will be plenty of beverages and snacks for you to choose from throughout the retreat.
Lunch both days is on your own, there are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat nearby.
Door prizes and fun make-it-take-it's will complete the event.
Participant will receive 20% off their fabric purchases and 15% off on kits and notions at the shop.

Machine Embroidery Day Out
Join Jeanne Tam and spend the day working on a Machine Embroidery project of your choice. Jeanne will be there to help with your questions on threads, stabilizers, hooping and specific project questions. Class is open to all levels of machine embroidery experience and owners of all brands of machines- Jeanne can help Bernina owners with questions specific to their machines (those who own machines other than Berninas should know the basic operation of their machine). The day will include a demonstration on a specific embroidery technique too! For those who have done some embroidery projects, you are welcomed to bring them for show and tell.

T-Shirt Quilt Workshop
If you have ever wanted to try your hand at making a t-shirt quilt then this is the opportunity for you!
In this class you will learn how to properly stabilize, and prepare your t-shirts for sewing. After the prep-work is done you will be guided in how to design a pleasing top out of your t-shirts.

One Block Wonder
This class was so much fun that we decided to offer it again!

Join Maxine Rosenthal using a unique method to design and create your quilt. The primary fabric does the bulk of the work and defines your color palette. The hexagon blocks you create from this fabric ultimately form the foundation of your quilt. The results are wonderful!

Hand Embroidery
Enjoy a lovely time with friends and creative ideas by getting together for Hand Embroidery Club. We will continue with the pattern 'Summer's Kitchen' by Crabapple Hill Studio. The Embroidery blocks are enhanced by using Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils. This is a block of the month pattern.

April 28  - Tara Block Of The Month
This beautiful 104 x 104” quilt, featuring wonderful Windham fabrics, is a block of the month. Spread over 12 months, you’ll have plenty of time to piece these exquisite blocks—Actually you’ll have more than 12 months since your teacher is planning to spend some time in warmer weather this winter! This is not a project for beginners, but more experienced quilters will enjoy using templates, partial seams and possibly some paper piecing to create this wonderful quilt.

A limited number of kits are available.

Halloween Block Of The Month
Join Diana as she leads this year long group of Spooksters to create the "Witch's Night Out Quilt" by It's Sew Emma. This fun quilt conjures everything a witch cannot go without - a jaunty hat, a feline familiar, a shadowy bat, a bubbling cauldron, and of course a trusty broomstick! All of these blocks are easily pieced, so no curses need. A variety of seven pieced pumpkin blocks complete this spellbinding scene.

The Witch's Not Out BOM will meet on the last Wednesday of each month beginning on October 30th, 2019. There will even be special Witchy snacks to go along with each class.

April 17 - Open Hand Embroidery
Enjoy a day of embroidery stitching with friends. This group is open to all who enjoy hand embroidery. Sharon will help you with your stitching and answer embroidery questions. Remember to bring your Show and Tell!

Pineapple Quilt
Join instructor Stacy Klucas as she shows you how to make a really fun, and cheerful quilt block, the Pineapple block!

 Intersected
Join us for this twist on a log cabin like quilt. This quilt comes in three sizes (baby, lap, and queen size) and is made using fat quarters. You can choose a fat quarter bundle or make the quilt using a variety of fat quarters giving the quilt a scrappy look. We will sort and group our fat quarters, then cut one set of three. Next we will piece them giving us six different blocks. The remainder of our time will be used to cut and/or piece the remaining fat quarters. This is a one day class.

Capri Table Runner
Join Stacy Klucas as she works on this fun series of table runners from the book the Trendy Table by Heather Peterson from Anka's Treasures. This table runner is a fun, springy project that showcases bright fabrics quite nicely!

April 07, 14, &  22 - Beginning Quilting
Are you Interested in learning the art of quilting? Join us as we dive into mastering the very basics of quilt-making! In this three-part class you will learn how to use the tools of the trade, including the rotary cutter, cutting mat, basic ruler, etc. Develop the skills needed to be a successful quilter by finding the quarter inch mark on your sewing machine, accurately piecing together your fabric, ironing without distorting the shape and size of your quilt block, deciphering a quilt pattern, and much more!

April 11 - Sew it, Stitch it, Love it
This is a great social event where we show off some of the latest and greatest that is out there on the market.
If you are in need of a little social time with some fellow quilters, and sewists, or are in need of some fresh inspiration this is the event for you!

April 24 - Midnight Open Sew
Join Diana for a fun night of sewing!  This is a great way to get out for an evening and make some progress on your projects.  All participants will receive a 10% discount on bolt fabric cuts. (Discount does not apply to notions, kits, or wool.)

April 26 - Rock Candy Table Runner
Last table runner of the semester! 
This beautiful table runner gives the appearance of shooting stars in the summer, or twinkling lights in the winter. Take it in any direction, this is another fabulous table runner!

May 9 - Barn Quilt Painting Class with The Blue Fox

Come join The Blue Fox at Affinity for Quilts to create a beautiful barn quilt pattern on a 14”x14” reclaimed wood pallet!
Locally sourced from an old farmhouse by craftsman and farmer, Josh Reinitz of East Henderson Farm, each pallet has a unique quality. Note that the wood is truly reclaimed, meaning each pallet will be completely individual and will have flaws, such as nail holes and small dings. The wood has been carefully selected, pre-sanded, and assembled.
