Tip Of The Week

To avoid arcing or bowing in your strip piecing projects, alternate the direction you sew each strip. Stitch the first strip in one direction, then start the next strip from the opposite end, continuing this pattern throughout.

If you have a tip you'd like to share with our readers, feel free to email Diana at quilt@affinityforquilts.com.

Top-A-Long Sewing Adventure

You asked, we listened! Our last Top-A-Long was such a hit that we’re thrilled to be hosting it again!

A Top-A-Long is a fun, collaborative sewing experience where quilters come together to create the same quilt top. With winter approaching, I thought this would be a perfect, cozy project for our quilting community!

Over the next seven months, we’ll create a quilt top or runner each month, with every session featuring a new pattern from Villa Rosa Designs and highlighting the talented designers behind this popular collection of patterns.

We encourage you to dive into your fabric stash and incorporate those special pieces you've been saving.

On the first Saturday of each month, we’ll gather for a special event where you’ll receive your free pattern and enjoy a show-and-tell session. The sample quilt for that month will also be revealed and displayed in the shop. The best part? You won’t know what the next quilt will be until the meeting!

If you can’t attend in person, don’t worry—you can still join in the fun! We’ll mail you the free pattern in time for the meeting, and you can send a photo of your completed quilt top via text or email to be entered into our monthly prize drawing.

Each month, when you finish your quilt top, you’ll be entered to win a fun quilty gift. Plus, at the end of the six-month event, one lucky participant will receive the top of their choice to be long-armed , courtesy of Diana.
