Welcome to What's Up Wednesday!
Wow! There are so many new and exciting things to share this week that I am not sure where to begin.

I have been collaborating with our bag-making instructor, Ruth Thompson, for nearly six months to develop a series of classes that will elevate your bag-making skills and introduce you to a wide range of materials used in bag-making. If you're passionate about crafting bags, you won't want to miss this opportunity to enhance your skills. Displayed below is an image showcasing all the bags, and within the "Classes and Events" section, you'll discover comprehensive details about the series.

The All Minnesota Shop Hop Magazines have just arrived and are now on sale for $11.95 each. If you've pre-ordered a magazine, feel free to come by and pick it up. If you prefer to have a magazine mailed to you, there will be a $4.00 per magazine shipping charge for regular USPS or $8.00 for 2 Day Priority.

Affinity For Quilts will extend its hours until 8:00pm on Tuesday, February 13th, in celebration of Downtown White Bear Lakes Galentine's Day.  "Galentine's Day" on February 13th, preceding Valentine's Day, originated from the TV show "Parks and Recreation." Inspired by Leslie Knope, portrayed by Amy Poehler, it celebrates and honors female friendships.  Check out the "Classes and Events" section below for event hours and store specials.

It's Freebie Monday! Drop by on February 12th to get a complimentary package of 20 Flower Head Pins when you spend $25.00 before taxes. These pins are perfect for all your quilting essentials.
Introducing Wishwell Storyboard by Leslie Tucker Jenison from Robert Kaufman Fabrics. This captivating collection of vibrant and distinctive fabrics boasts bold, bright colors and showcases an abstract artistry that makes it a superb addition to any quilt.
Elena Vladykina's Lucky Day fabric collection from Robert Kaufman is ideal for your St. Patrick's Day endeavors. With its variety of green hues, shamrocks, clovers, and other festive designs, these fabrics are essential for quilters aiming to craft something extraordinary for the occasion.

To accommodate new samples, we must liquidate some of our older ones. Criss Cross Kisses, a perfect quilt for Spring and Summer, is designed by Robin Pickens and utilizes her fabric line Tulip Tango from Moda Fabrics. This lap-size quilt measures 63-1/2" x 63-1/2". The kit is available at a special sale price of $59.99.

If you are unable to locate a specific item you're in search of, please don't hesitate to reach out to any member of our dedicated Affinity For Quilts team.  We're committed to going the extra mile to source it for you.  While our aim is to stock a comprehensive selection of products to fulfill your quilting needs, there are occasions when certain items may need a special order.

Just a reminder if you have a tip you would like to share with our readers just e-mail Diana at quilt@affinityforquilts.com.
Classes and Events
In order to provide all of our customers with the opportunity to take classes, we require payment at the time of registration.  If you need to cancel, we kindly ask for 7-day prior notification to the class date.  This allows us to offer your spot to someone on our waitlist and refund your registration fee.  Thank you for understanding this policy and happy quilting everyone.

H20TOGo Sling Bag Class

Join Ruth to create the H2O2GO (water to go) bag!  This is a unique crossbody bag designed to hold a bottle or tumbler while on the go, leaving your hands free. The pattern as purchased is an intermediate pattern using advanced bag making techniques...so let's make this easier:  this class will actually instruct you on making a "hacked" version of this bag. A hack is merely a simplified version of the original pattern's design, techniques or both. In our class we will eliminate the curved exterior zipper pocket (with internal pocket and credit card slots) and round bottom construction on the original pattern and replace it with a straight exterior zipper pocket, exterior slip pocket and boxed bottom construction, while still providing space for a phone, credit cards, cash, keys and up to a 32 oz. bottle. This bag finishes at ~11" tall x 6" wide and 4" deep. The class also introduces a new material at Affinity For Quilts - waxed canvas! You will have the choice of making your H2O2GO in either waxed canvas or quilting cotton.
