Quilters Are SEW Amazing!!!

Posted by Diana Wendorf on

Welcome to What's Up Wednesday!
I think we skipped spring and went right into summer with these temperatures and thunderstorms.  However, I am enjoying my drive each day and seeing the budding green in the trees, the sprouting of the perennial plants and flowers, and the green lawns.  I even played in the dirt over the weekend and worked on my flower beds.

Next Wednesday, May 18th, is Fat Quarter Wednesday.  If you buy 6 Fat Quarters your 7th one is free!  If you don't see a pre-cut Fat quarter that you'd like,  do not fear, we will cut a Fat Quarter for you from any of the bolts on the floor.

The All Minnesota Shop Hop continues through the end of May, and for your shopping convenience Affinity For Quilts will be open Memorial Day, May 30th, from 9am-5pm.  Sunday, May 22nd, is Shop Hop Sunday and we will be open from 11:00am-5:00pm for all your hoppers out there.  We have met so many wonderful people and we hope to meet many more.

Speaking of Shop Hop's, the booklets for the 16th Annual Quilt Minnesota Shop Hop are in the shop.  Be sure to stop in and pick yours up today!  Also, we are currently taking pre-orders for the 2022 Quilt Minnesota Shop Hop fabric.  This can be done one of two ways:
1)  Shop our on-line store at www.affinityforquilts.com  Our website is set up with shop hop fabrics to be purchased at a price of $0.00 for pre-order purposes.  You can be assured that you will be able to reserve all your 2022 Quilt Minnesota Fabric.
2)  Stop into the shop and a staff member can assist you in completing an order form.
The actual fabric has not yet arrived, but rest assured we will let you know as soon as it does.
Amelia by Makower UK Fabrics features cute floral ditsy designs in pretty shades of turquoise, chambray, coral and yellows. Perfect for quilts, crafty projects or summer dresses.

Sparkle and Fade from Hoffman Fabrics is a white, grey, and black collection accented with metallic silver that will add style and elegance to a variety of projects.
If you are unable find an item you are looking for, talk to any Affinity For Quilts team member and we will do our best to order it for you.  We wish we could carry all your quilting needs, but items that are not basic sometimes need to be special ordered.

COVID-19
Per the CDC COVID is now an endemic vs a pandemic. This means that, while some people would still get infected, it wouldn't be an unbearable number with devastating consequences that overwhelms the public, hospital systems and providers.  The seasonal flu, or influenza, is an example of an endemic virus. We will continue to monitor the COVID situation; however, masks are still a great way to stop the spread of this disease.  If you have not been vaccinated please wear a mask when in the shop.  At the current time it is employee choice if they want to mask or not.
