When stitching two fabric pieces together and one is cut on the bias, always place the bias (stretchy) piece against the feed dogs. The feed dogs gently guide and control the fabric’s stretch, helping to prevent distortion and puckering while easing in any fullness. This simple adjustment ensures your seams remain smooth, even, and properly aligned—especially when working with angled cuts, curves, or bias edges that tend to shift more easily during sewing. | |
