Umbrella Class Saturday May 9 & 30, 2026
Umbrella Class – 2 Part Workshop
Description:
Are you ready to turn heads on a rainy day? In this two-part workshop, students will create a custom umbrella using beautiful quilting cotton—because why settle for ordinary when you can carry something handmade?
Instructor Lisa K. Giebink will guide students step-by-step through the entire process, transforming fabric into a stylish and functional umbrella that reflects your personality. This class is approachable for beginners while still offering valuable skill-building techniques along the way.
By the end of class, you’ll walk away with a completed umbrella that’s as fun as it is functional—and you may never look at a rainy day the same way again.
What You’ll Learn:
-
How to cut and prepare umbrella panels for a professional fit
-
How to sew curved seams and reinforce pivot points
-
How to assemble and attach the canopy to the umbrella frame
-
How to finish and weatherproof the umbrella for everyday use
Supply List:
The supply list will be provided when students register for class and is available prior to registration upon request. It includes all items needed for class.
Class Prep:
Most of our classes include some class prep completed at home before class. To make the most out of your experience, we appreciate if you come ready so we can jump right into sewing together.
