Machine Appliqué Basics Class

Description:
Learn the fundamentals of machine appliqué in this beginner-friendly class using First-Time Appliqué by Janet Pittman. In class, students will focus on creating one or more appliqué blocks while learning core techniques that can be applied to a wide variety of sewing and quilting projects.

Sample projects—including a table runner, a bag, and a pouch—will be shared for inspiration, demonstrating how completed appliqué blocks can become the focal point of larger projects. Students are encouraged to get creative and explore how their finished block(s) can be incorporated into future designs.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to prepare fabrics using paper-backed fusible web

  • How to stitch appliqué shapes using a zig-zag stitch for clean, secure edges

  • How to use stabilizers and marking tools for accurate placement and professional results

This class is a great introduction to machine appliqué and will give students the confidence to design and complete appliqué projects in a variety of ways.

Supply List:
The supply list will be provided when students register for class and is available prior to registration upon request. It includes all items needed for class.
