Boro Sashiko Class
Description:
Discover the beauty of Japanese hand stitching in our Boro Sashiko class with instructor Tammy Berry. Using fabric scraps and traditional Sashiko embroidery supplies, students will create a one-of-a-kind textile art piece inspired by the centuries-old practice of Boro. This slow-stitch method embraces visible mending, raw edges, and a hand-sewn aesthetic—making each project completely unique.
Whether you’re brand new to Sashiko or looking to expand your hand-stitching skills, this class guides students through essential techniques while encouraging creativity and personal expression. You’ll learn how to layer fabrics, experiment with stitch patterns, and transform favorite scraps into something both beautiful and functional.
