Tilda Hibernation Fabric Line Available October 2nd!

Posted by Diana Wendorf on

Welcome to What's Up Thursday!

While it is sad to say sometimes life just gets in the way and there are not enough hours in the day to do everything you have to do.  And while this newsletter is very important to me, there are those rare occasions where I must put other priorities first.  That is what happened to me this week.  So welcome to "What's Up Thursday!"

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for Fall Frenzy Ladies Night Out last Thursday.  I always love this event and seeing all the Scarecrows around town.   There were truly some great ones this year.

I just cannot wait till we get down to the fabric portion of the newsletter this week as I am so excited to let everyone know that (drum roll)...Tilda Hibernation is in the shop!  The sad news is that you will have to wait until the official Tilda Hibernation release date of October 2nd to purchase the fabric.  What is your next Tilda project going to be?

Two new samples for you this week.

One of my favorite fall
decorations is Ornamental Corn, so with that said it should come of no surprise that I fell in love with the pattern Let's Pop Some Corn by Pieces From My Heart.  The runner measures 18" x 58" and limited kits will be available for  $45.99.

Nature's Holiday wall banner, by Pine Tree Country Quilts, is the perfect holiday decoration for any home.  Made from the White Linen Christmas collection from Northcott fabrics this is not just for the Christmas season, but truly for all winter long.  The banner measures 36" x 48" and limited kits will be available for $51.99.

Desert Oasis, designed by Create Joy Project for Moda Fabrics, is a truly majestic collection that celebrates the beauty of nature. Each piece of art was carefully crafted to emote the joy of escape, adventure, warmth and peace that can be found in your travels to a beloved location awash in sunshine and cool water, red rock mountains and magical cliffs. This fabric line is packed full of fabrics celebrating the red rock mountains and cliffs, warm sands, soft textural plants, unique rocks and pebbles, the culture of the area, the crisp blue sky and the healing sunshine.

Majestic by Whistler Studios for Windham Fabrics features a magnificent mountain range panel, ombre pine trees, an icy texture and a serene winter wonderland capture the natural beauty of the outdoors.  In a muted and subdued palette of soft blue, misty grey, dewy moss and shadowy charcoal, Majestic  will bring the splendor of nature to quilts, wall hangings and home decor.

If you are unable find an item you are looking for, please speak  to any member of the Affinity For Quilts team, and we will do our best to order it for you.  While we strive to carry a wide range of items to meet your quilting needs, there are certain products that may need to be special ordered.

Tip of the Week!   As I was talking to my beginning quilting class this week it reminded me how important it is to spend time reading the quilting directions of your pattern prior to getting into a project.  Every time I begin a new pattern I take the time read through all of the directions of the pattern.  Also, be sure to go out to the designers website to make sure there are no corrections to the pattern.  Hey, we are all human and mistakes do happen.
Just a reminder if you have a tip you would like to share with our readers just e-mail Diana at quilt@affinityforquilts.com.
