Posted by Diana Wendorf on

Welcome to What's Up Wednesday!
It’s hard to believe Labor Day weekend is almost here. Affinity For Quilts will be closed for the holiday so our staff can enjoy time with their families. We look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday, September 2 for Double Punch Tuesday.

Affinity For Quilts is delighted to participate in the upcoming Northwoods Quilt Trek, running October 3–11. This fall shop hop is a wonderful way to take in Minnesota’s autumn colors while visiting 11 fantastic quilt shops along Highways 35 and 61. At each stop, you’ll find exclusive fall-themed quilt block kits available for purchase, have the chance to register for prize gift baskets, and, if you complete all 11 shops, be entered to win a JUKI sewing machine. Full details are available in our Classes & Events section below.

The new Tilda collection, Merry Little Christmas, has arrived and will be available for purchase online beginning Monday, September 1, and in-store starting Tuesday, September 2. Watch for photos of this beautiful line on our Facebook page and in next week’s newsletter.
Newest Sample!
Our newest quilt sample, Cubbies – Warm Welcome by Quilting Renditions, is now on display. This cozy design finishes at 53” x 71” and features the charming Warm Welcome fabric line by Lynnea Washburn for Robert Kaufman. We have a limited number of kits available for $84.99, so be sure to pick up yours soon before they’re gone.
Latest Fabric Arrivals!

A blackout usually means darkness, but the Blackout collection by Riley Blake is sure to spark inspiration. This eye-catching line showcases black and gray in a variety of versatile designs—my favorite is the playful cat faces! Stop in and pick up your favorites to use in your next project.

Winter Whisper by Whistler Studio for Windham Fabrics invites you into a charming snow-covered town, where every corner glistens with the magic of the season. The collection includes a dreamy town panel with a snowy, puffed texture, along with coordinating prints of snowflakes, winter birds, and icy patterns. It’s perfect for creating cozy, whimsical projects that reflect the serene beauty of a winter’s night.

Tip Of The Week

Keep your thread spools neat and tidy with a simple trick—wrap the ends with painter’s tape. It keeps threads from dangling and tangling, and best of all, it leaves no sticky residue behind.  An easy, budget-friendly way to keep your sewing space organized and your supplies ready for the next project!
