When top-stitching your project, take a moment to bring the bobbin thread up to the top before you begin sewing. Hold the top thread, take one stitch, and gently pull the bobbin thread to the surface so both threads start on the top of your quilt. This simple step helps prevent tangled “bird nests” of thread from forming on the back of your project at the start of your stitching. It also gives you a cleaner, more professional finish and makes it easier to secure your threads neatly when you begin and end your stitching.
