Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Posted by Diana Wendorf on

Welcome to What's Up Wednesday!
During our beginning quilting classes this year we discussed the possibility of a class to show you the technique to straight line quilt the top you just made.  In case you have missed it, we now have a Straight Line Quilting class on the roster for November 5, 2022.  For all the details please scroll down to the Classes and Events section of the newsletter.

There are only 6 days till Halloween and the countdown to Halloween is still happening at the shop.  Stop on in to pull your "Trick" or "Treat" from our Halloween Advent Calendar.  Also  all Halloween fabric, pre-cuts, and kits are 20% off.  So dust off those cob-webs and create some fun new Halloween items for the season.

While I wish I
could bring in all of the fabric lines that are out there, that just isn't possible.  Know that your wishes do not fall upon dead ears.  You expressed an interest in the 30"s line of fabrics and while we won't bring in the full line on bolts, we will have FQ bundles and the coordinating 30's background fabrics.
Last week it was St. Patrick's Day fabrics and this week it is Valentine's Day fabrics!  Happy Hearts by Nancy McKenzie, from Wilmington Prints, is a Valentine's Day themed quilt fabric collection featuring classic heart prints, word prints, and plaids in a traditional red and pink color scheme.
The modern day Mom is all about nutural colors and non-traditional quilts.  However, the quilter still needs that bold color.   How about the best of both worlds?  Rainforest Friends by Ann Kelle, for Robert Kaufman Fabrics, features both of those worlds.  The naturals can be played upon and the dynamic bold fabrics make the best pillowcases.
If you are unable find an item you are looking for, talk to any Affinity For Quilts team member and we will do our best to order it for you.  We wish we could carry all your quilting needs, but items that are not basic sometimes need to be special ordered.

Classroom Space
Our classroom space is currently open.  If your group would like a place to meet please contact Affinity For Quilts at 651-429-1039.  Evening meeting space is available; however, there will be a fee that will need to be negotiated with the shop for evening meetings.
