It's Time to Celebrate!

Posted by Diana Wendorf on

I hope everyone had an enjoyable 4th of July weekend.

I would like to extend my thanks Ruth of The Sewing Stage for sharing her bags during Marketfest. It was so great to have her on-site!  This week, we are excited to welcome Aryn from The Blue Fox, to our Marketfest booth, so drop by and
visit us Thursday night.

Stop in next week to help us celebrate our 4th year Anniversary in style!  We have a store full of specials and some great prizes.  One lucky shopper will win our Grand Prize of 25% off all bolt fabric purchases for 1 year.  (Note:  Fabric excluded from the 25% off Grand Prize discount is Minnesota Shop Hop, Tilda, and Cork.)  For all the details scroll down to Classes and Events.

Monday, July 10th is also Freebie Monday.  This month you will receive a free 45mm rotary blade with a $25.00 pre-tax purchase.   Also in celebration of our Anniversary Tuesday, July 11th will be Double Punch Tuesday.

Get ready to put on your Shop Hopping shoes because there are only 23 days until the 17th Annual Quilt MN Shop Hop begins.  This year, nine fantastic shops in the Metro region are participating.  Visit all nine shops and receive a 22 oz Insulated Tumble as your regional prize.  Perfect for keeping your hot beverages hot and your cold beverages cold as you travel around the state to explore all of the other regions.

Another reason to visit all nine of the Quilt Minnesota Metro Region shops is to collect all nine 1/2-yard cuts of Peppered Cottons.  These 1/2-yard cuts can be purchased for $3.00 when you spend $25.00 at each shop pre-tax.

The One-Block Wonder method is incredibly fun to use with fabric panels.  We took the 1-yard panel from the Quilt Minnesota fabric line this year and turned it into this stunning One-Block Wonder.

Are you interested in learning how to create a One-Block Wonder from a panel?  If so, make sure to check out the two-part class we have scheduled, starting August 26, 2023.  You can find all the details in the Classes and Events section below.

It wouldn't be Minnesota without our beloved Hot-Dish!  To help you Pass the Hot Dish, we have created this carrier that you can place on your table, ensuring you pass that dish around in style.  Storage is easy for this project as it stores flat when not in use.

To help you safely retrieve your Hot-Dish from the oven, we have Pot Pinchers!  According to the pattern by Vanilla House designs, they are touted as the world's best oven mitt, and I must say, after using them, I wholeheartedly agree.
These adorable Gnomes are all set for Halloween!  The Boo Crew quilt features the fabric line designed by Susan Wingate by the same name.  The quilt measures 50-1/2 x 68-1/2 and kits area available for $84.99.
If you are unable find an item you are looking for, please speak  to any member of the Affinity For Quilts team, and we will do our best to order it for you.  While we strive to carry a wide range of items to meet your quilting needs, there are certain products that may need to be special ordered.

Tip of the Week!  What do you do with that leftover fabric in your kit?  Some kits have more leftover fabric than others.  A fun idea for utilizing that extra fabric is to piece it together to use as backing fabric.  That's exactly what our sample maker did with the leftover fabric from the Boo Crew kit.
Just a reminder if you have a tip you would like to share with our readers just e-mail Diana at quilt@affinityforquilts.com.
Classes and Events
In order to provide all of our customers with the opportunity to take classes, we require payment at the time of registration.  If you need to cancel, we kindly ask for 7-day prior notification to the class date.  This allows us to offer your spot to someone on our waitlist and refund your registration fee.  Thank you for understanding this policy and happy quilting everyone.

When you sign up for a class at Affinity For Quilts you will receive information regarding the class including any required supplies needed for the class and pre-class preparations.   Make  sure to review the supply/class prep list to ensure you have everything you need for a wonderful class experience.  If you sign up and pay by phone, don't worry, we can email you all of the necessary information for a successful class experience.

If you are interested in an event and it is full, please add your name to the waitlist.  If a spot becomes available,  we will contact the first person on the waitlist to check their availability.
The waitlist also helps us gauge the popularity of an event and determine if we should offer it again in the future.
