Happy 5th Anniversary!

Posted by Diana Wendorf on

Welcome to What's Up Wednesday!
Trust Minnesota to welcome the season's first snowstorm in spring, rather than winter. The unexpected break gave us two delightful days to indulge in sewing, but now we're back in action. Our doors are open, ready to assist you with all your quilting requirements.

We have some fun and exciting things planned for you on Saturday and Monday.

On Saturday, March 30th, we'll be hosting our 5th annual Easter Egg Hunt. Inside the store, you'll find hidden colored eggs, each holding something special just for you and an Easter treat.

  • 1)  Gift Certificate for $30.00
  • 2)  Gift Certificate for $15.00
  • 3)  Gift Certificates for $10.00
  • 5) Discounts on fabric purchases.  Discounts exclude Quilt Minnesota Fabric, Tilda, and cork.
  • 6)  Free Fat Quarter
  • 7)  Free Villa Rosa Pattern
  • 8) All Eggs have a sweet treat.  You never loose with Chocolate!
Participants must be 18 or older to participate. Children with parents can hunt for eggs; however, only one egg per household.

Mark your calendars for two major events on Monday, April 1st!

First and foremost, Affinity For Quilts is thrilled to be celebrating our 5th Anniversary! We invite everyone to join us for a birthday cupcake and a friendly hello. Also, don't forget our annual anniversary sale happening from July 8th to 13th.

The second highlight is the kickoff of the All Minnesota Shop Hop on the same day. We're excited to welcome all our hoppers and join in the festivities.

April 8, 2024, marks a significant event: a total solar eclipse. In commemoration of this celestial phenomenon, we've introduced a new sample named "Eclipses." This pattern, designed by Creative Solutions for Villa Rosa Designs, showcases a quilt measuring 59" by 79". It features Fat-Quarters for the sun and moon units against a backdrop of blue sky. Limited kits are now available for $106.99.

We've had a blast creating numerous quilts from the Mini Wonderful Curves book, and our latest creation is "Bird Song." This charming piece is ideal for adding a touch of springtime flair to your décor. Measuring 32" x 63", it's perfect for a wall-hanging. Limited kits are on offer for $64.99.

As an exciting bonus, we'll be offering a class on June 1, 2024, featuring Bird Song. Don't forget to explore the Classes and Events Section below for more information.

Introduce your child to the ABC's with this cozy quilt and soft book set! The Read To Me Cuddle quilt and accompanying soft book are crafted from Shannon fabrics. The quilt spans approximately 28" x 40", while the soft book measures 9" x 9". The kit contains all the essentials required to create both the quilt and soft book, available for $64.99.

Clover & Dot by Allison Harris from Windham Fabrics is a springtime breath of fresh air.  Allison Harris describes Clover & Dot as "This collection reminds me of laying out on the lawn on a warm afternoon, listening to the bees buzz around me and picking the clover flowers, with nothing to do and nowhere else to be.  It make me crave simple days and spending more time outside in the yard and garden.  I included my favorite hues that blend beautifully with my past collections, plus a pop of orange and playful prints that make it fresh and happy.

Tip of the Week!  When attaching small squares to another square for diagonal sewing, always press the smaller square onto the corresponding corner before sewing. Pressing helps secure the tiny squares in position and ensures they're trimmed to the right size, resulting in neat and crisp corners every time.
Just a reminder if you have a tip you would like to share with our readers just e-mail Diana at quilt@affinityforquilts.com.
Classes and Events
In order to provide all of our customers with the opportunity to take classes, we require payment at the time of registration.  If you need to cancel, we kindly ask for 7-day prior notification to the class date.  This allows us to offer your spot to someone on our waitlist and refund your registration fee.  Thank you for understanding this policy and happy quilting everyone.

When you sign up for a class at Affinity For Quilts you will receive information regarding the class including any required supplies needed for the class and pre-class preparations.   Make  sure to review the supply/class prep list to ensure you have everything you need for a wonderful class experience.  If you sign up and pay by phone, don't worry, we can email you all of the necessary information for a successful class experience.

If you are interested in an event and it is full, please add your name to the waitlist.  If a spot becomes available,  we will contact the first person on the waitlist to check their availability.
The waitlist also helps us gauge the popularity of an event and determine if we should offer it again in the future.

You can register and pay for classes in person at 2199 4th Street, White Bear Lake Minnesota, or by phone at 651-429-1039.

Happy Birthday Affinity For Quilts

Celebrate with us as Affinity For Quilts turns 5! It's been an exciting journey over these past 5 years, filled with memorable moments and plenty of fun.

Mark your calendars for our annual anniversary sale, happening from July 8th to 13th. You might wonder why we're celebrating in July instead of our actual anniversary month. Well, when COVID forced us to close our doors on our first anniversary, we decided to postpone our big sale until July after the state reopened.

But that doesn't mean we can't have a blast on Monday, April 1st! Join us for cupcakes and festivities as we commemorate our 5th year anniversary. We'd love to have you be a part of this special occasion.
