Monday, February 13th, will be Freebie Monday and this month everyone who spends $25.00 pre-tax will receive the pocket book Log Cabin Block Basics.  This handy, must-have booklet contains clear, step-by-step instructions, tips, and techniques for traditional log cabin blocks, half log cabin blocks, and courthouse steps log cabin blocks. Also included are 6 log cabin block variations, yardage requirements, cutting charts for 6”, 8”, 10”, and 12” blocks, and 11 different setting ideas.
Time for a little inspiration!  The new Villa Rosa patterns have arrived and I definitely see a couple great quilts to be made.
Give your wool mat a refresh with this clever cleaning tool. Simply drag the cleaning blade across the surface of your wool mat to remove stray threads, lint, pet hair, and sewing debris that may have collected over time. The double sided cleaner gives you 4-1/2 inches of cleaning surface, so your wool mats will look like new in no time.
Lush and Lively is Jacqueline Maldonado's debut fabric collection with FIGO Fabrics. A celebration of life that combines a mix of lush florals with sophisticated abstracts, this collection was created in a playful, painterly energy that is the signature of Jacqueline’s watercolor style. In Lush and Lively, she explores a range of movement with color. Natural forms with painterly golds, oranges, reds and highlights of bright yellow evokes sunshine and light. The deep teals and blues with fresh aqua capture the essence of cool shadows, breezes and refreshing water. These prints are expressions of vibrant, energetic, growing, and flourishing life.

Tip of the Week!
Affinity For Quilts Tip of the Week: In quilting, we all know how important that quarter inch seam is.  Why not take a minute to check your stitch accuracy at the beginning of your quilting project.   An easy way to do this is to sew three 2-1/2" strips together. Once sewn, measure the center strip to confirm that it measures 2".  If it does, you are good to go.  If not make the necessary adjustments.
Just a reminder if you have a tip you would like to share with our readers just e-mail Diana at quilt@affinityforquilts.com.
Classes and Events
In order to give all of our customers the opportunity to take classes we will be requesting payment at the time of registration.  If you need to cancel, we ask for notification 7 days prior to the class date so we can offer your spot to someone on our wait list and refund your registration fee.  Thanks so much for your understanding of this policy change and happy quilting everyone.

When you sign up for a class at Affinity For Quilts you will receive information about the class including any supplies needed for the class and often a few things that need to be completed before the day of the class.  Be sure to read through the supply/class prep list to ensure you have everything you need for a really wonderful class experience.  If you sign up and pay by phone, not to worry, we can email you all of the information you need for a successful class experience.

If you are interested in an event and it is full, please add your name to the wait list, if someone can not attend then we will call the first person on the wait list to see if they are available to take that spot.

The wait list is also used to see how popular an event is and if we should offer it again in the future.

You can register and pay for classes in person at 2199 4th Street, White Bear Lake Minnesota or by phone at 651-429-1039.
