Christmas in July!

Posted by Diana Wendorf on

Welcome to What's Up Wednesday!
Thank you everyone for all the Birthday wishes.  I had a great day and a husband who spoiled me rotten, but then again he always does.  I am looking forward to another wonderful year with all of you in my life.

In case you missed it, our annual Anniversary Sale is currently going on.  We have some great discounts on all your favorite fabrics and one lucky winner will receive 25% off of all on-bolt purchases for one year.  See the events section below for all the specials and other great prizes.  No purchase necessary to enter our prize drawing and you can enter once each business day to increase your chances of winning.  Sale ends on Saturday, July 16th.

The rotary blades have arrived!  Again I apologize that we did not have the rotary blades in stock for Freebie Monday; however, they were delivered on Tuesday.  Please present your raincheck slip, or receipt, to pick up your Freebie Monday gift.  While you are here don't forget to register for the anniversary drawing.  The more times you register the greater your chances are for winning.

I had the pleasure of speaking to the South Minneapolis Quilters on Tuesday.  Thank you ladies for hosting me and I hope to see you again in the future.

You may not see me in the shop next week.  It is my Aunt's 100th birthday and her children are having a celebration for her over the weekend.  Since I will be so far west for the party,  I decided to take an extra day or two and hide out in the Grand Tetons of Wyoming.  I look forward to returning renewed and refreshed in time for Midnight Open Sew on the 22nd.
New sample time, and we have a lot of them to share with you this week!

Calling all you Steampunk fans, this is the perfect quilt to dress up your home for the holidays.  It's A Steampunk Christmas panel was paired with a couple of coordinating fabrics and the Diva 2 pattern from Maple Island Quilts.  The quilt measures 34"x 52", which is the perfect size for your door.  Limited kits are available for $42.99.
We are really lucky to have Reed Johnson of Blue Bear Quilts designing our unique Quilt Minnesota Samples every year.  This year he as done a fabulous job with two quilts and a table runner.

Our Quilt Minnesota feature quilt this week is Minnesota Home.  The quilt features two of the panels from the Quilt Minnesota fabric line in the center surrounded by simple blocks from the coordinating fabrics.  The quilt measures 76" x 76".
It is time to dress up your table Minnesota style and to help you do that we have three table runners to share with you this week.

The Tango table runner pattern is from Anka's Treasures and features the Quilt Minnesota Jelly Roll.  Simple strip units are cut into 60-degree triangles and then arranged in this unique layout.  The runner measures 24" x 48".
Minnesota Lake Table Runner was designed by Reed Johnson of Blue Bear Quilts.  This runner measures 24" x 56" and is perfect for dressing up any Minnesota's home.
Duck Duck Goose runner was designed by Bea Lee of Beaquilter.  Three simple "ducks in a row" blocks and coordinating border makes up this cute and fast table runner.  The runner measures 20" x 40".
Serve up that side dish in style with the Wire-Framed Potluck Totes pattern by Joanne Hillestad from Sew Organized Designs, formerly known as Fat Quarter Gypsy.  This convenient carrier protects your table from those fresh out of the oven goodies.  The side dish measures 10" x 10" x 2.5".
Potlucks are always a fun way to get together with family or friends and what better way to take your favorite dish to the event than the Casserole Carry All and matching potholder from Indygo Junction.  Conveniently designed to hold your favorite 9" x 13" casserole dish or an 8" x 8" square dish just by selecting different hook and loop tape configurations.   The best part about it is that your serving spoons are the handles.
Ok, that is it for all the new samples.  Next week we will have another exciting Quilt Minnesota quilt to share with you.

Now for the new fabric line that arrived this week!  Little Miss by Meags & Me is from Clothworks Fabrics.  Little Miss features bats, spiders, cobwebs, moons and haunted houses to create an energetic and spooky themed collection.  Pink, pewter, orange, and khaki collaborate to make this a unique Halloween feel!

COVID-19
Per the CDC COVID is now an endemic vs a pandemic. This means that, while some people would still get infected, it wouldn't be an unbearable number with devastating consequences that overwhelms the public, hospital systems and providers.  The seasonal flu, or influenza, is an example of an endemic virus. We will continue to monitor the COVID situation; however, masks are still a great way to stop the spread of this disease.  If you have not been vaccinated please wear a mask when in the shop.  At the current time it is employee choice if they want to mask or not.
