Welcome to What's Up Wednesday!

The Affinity For Quilts team wishes you a season filled with warmth and joy. Whether you’re celebrating with loved ones or spending some peaceful time with your sewing machine, we hope your holidays are happy and bright.

Affinity For Quilts will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 25, in observance of Christmas. We’ll reopen on Friday, December 26, at 9:00 AM for our special Inventory Reduction Sale. To give everyone extra time to shop, we’ll have extended hours on Friday, December 26, staying open until 7:00 PM. We’ll return to regular hours (9:00 AM–5:00 PM) on Saturday, December 27, and we’ll also be open Sunday, December 28, from 11:00 AM–5:00 PM. For full sale details, please see the Classes and Events section below.

From Monday, December 29, through Wednesday, December 31, we will be closed for annual inventory. We will still accept sewing machine drop-offs and pickups on December 29 thru December 31—please use the back door, as the front door will be locked.

We will also be closed on Thursday, January 1, in observance of New Year’s Day. We look forward to welcoming you in 2026 on Friday, January 2nd at 9:00 AM.

With the holidays falling midweek, we’re making a small change to our What’s Up Wednesday schedule. There will be no What’s Up Wednesday during Christmas week. For New Year’s week, you can expect it in your email inbox on Wednesday, December 31. What better way to kick off 2026 than with a peek at new fabric?

Tip Of The Week

Our current Lucky Break mystery is a perfect example of this idea. I asked the Sew-In Sunday group to select their favorite focus print for our upcoming mystery, and then our staff chose the perfect coordinating fabrics to create a well-balanced combination for your quilting project.

When choosing fabrics for any quilt, begin by browsing the shop and picking the print you love most as your main fabric. From there, build the rest of your fabric choices around it.

If you have a tip you'd like to share with our readers, feel free to email Diana at quilt@affinityforquilts.com.
